Food safety knowledge and practices among selected street food vendors

This study evaluates the food safety among street food vendors in Davao City. The are 387 street vendors respondents. The research addressed key questions related to vendors' personal hygiene knowledge, understanding of food safety, food handling and storage practices, and maintenance of cooking and serving tools. Statistical analyses used were Pearson r, t-test, mean test, and Analysis of variance. The implications of the findings are significant for public health and food safety regulation. The overall high means are food safety knowledge (3.98) and safety practices (4.33) among street food vendors in Davao City. Specific areas, such as awareness of the risks of reheating food and using raw water, results are low. The findings will help training programs and policy development to ensure adherence to safety practices. The findings are intended to provide insights into the current food safety measures and the level of awareness of people.
